Adding greenery to your home

Adding greenery to your interiors

While we may be waiting a few more weeks before the annual Spring property market gets fully under way in Victoria, the current lockdown could well provide aspiring home sellers with the opportunity to add a fresh Spring vibe to the interior of their property through the introduction of some indoor greenery.

Apart from adding visual appeal, indoor plants are known to provide a number of benefits to your home. They convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, they help to keep humidity levels at comfortable levels when heaters and air conditioners tend to dry out the air, they help to absorb noise and are also believed to assist in removing some airborne toxins.

The good news for anyone who has struggled to keep indoor plants alive in the past is that there are a number of varieties that have a reputation for being particularly difficult to kill.

Some of the plants that you might want to consider include:

  • Calathea;
  • Dragon tree (pictured);
  • Peace Lily;
  • Philodendron;
  • Spider Plant; or
  • Some of the succulents like Aloe Vera, Cactus or Jade plants.
